Please follow me below as I reflect on the course! :) What did you learn or “take-away” from this course and how has your perspective about integrating technology into K to 9 education changed/grown throughout the course? Throughout this course, my perspective on bringing technology into K to 9 education has changed quite a bit. I've learned some valuable lessons that have shaped the way I see things. Reflecting on past experiences has become a key part of my learning process, helping me continuously improve. Lesson pacing is a big deal—making sure things move at the right speed to keep students engaged and cover the material well. Scratch 3-Day Integrated Lesson

Blog #4 - Coding for Kids Scratch - Crayon Colouring Activity I used a Scratch creation that I created for my lesson plan. This Scratch activity is an interactive colouring sheet where you can individually select each colour crayon using "Left Click" and draw as your heart desires. To place the crayon back after colouring hit the "Space" key on your keyboard, then proceed to choose your next colour. Using the "Slider" you can change the colour size. The "Erase All" button will remove any active work on the page. To "Erase" individual lines you can use the white crayon. Clicking "New Page" will cycle through the 4 different available page selections. Please try it out and let me know what you think! For my lesson plan, I incorporated information and communication technology and visual arts.  In this lesson, students learn to use technology responsibly while following classroom procedures. Students also learn to understand the...

Creation App Mini-Lesson

Image
Today I participated in sharing my mini lesson with my peers! I really enjoyed creating and presenting this mini lesson with my group.  It was great to experience facilitating and creating the lesson surrounding technology. Although I am fairly familiar with technology I have never experienced teaching a lesson based on or with technologic integration. This was a great trial lesson and helped me understand what I can expect for future lessons. This lesson also helped me generate ideas for my future lessons and I was able to use my peers lessons to brainstorm my own personal integration towards my practicum.  During my lesson teaching I felt very confident leading the first part of our lesson and then supporting my peers in completing their section. I believe our lesson was thoroughly planned and met all of the required goals. I am very proud of my group! I love what we created in the time we had :) Link To My Lesson Plan:    Here The app my group decided to use for o...

Transforming Education Through Technology

Image
During my teaching positions over the last three years, I've seen a phenomenal increase in the incorporation of technology across the educational environment. This transformation was accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, which compelled educators to embrace online learning platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet for virtual lectures and meetings. What impressed me the most was the consistent presence of technology throughout school levels, despite variances in curriculum and age groupings. Throughout my practicum experiences, I witnessed a wide range of technological tools that significantly improved the teaching and learning process. These tools aided in the creation of lively and engaging educational settings that benefited both teachers and students. Educators smoothly incorporated numerous educational apps, digital whiteboards, and online evaluation tools into their lessons, resulting in engaging and entertaining learning experiences. My burning question is how do we navigate ar...
