Transforming Education Through Technology

During my teaching positions over the last three years, I've seen a phenomenal increase in the incorporation of technology across the educational environment. This transformation was accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, which compelled educators to embrace online learning platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet for virtual lectures and meetings. What impressed me the most was the consistent presence of technology throughout school levels, despite variances in curriculum and age groupings. Throughout my practicum experiences, I witnessed a wide range of technological tools that significantly improved the teaching and learning process. These tools aided in the creation of lively and engaging educational settings that benefited both teachers and students. Educators smoothly incorporated numerous educational apps, digital whiteboards, and online evaluation tools into their lessons, resulting in engaging and entertaining learning experiences. My burning question is how do we navigate around the abundance of issues that may come with technology? The main one would be internet shortage perhaps or even, lack there of resources to go around technology wise. Maybe there are not enough laptops for each student, or maybe a particular adult or student cannot properly familiarize themselves with the technology.

  1. Very cool perspective! I didn't think about how COVID accelerated the use of technology in classrooms but it totally did. Your burning question is very interesting, for example the internet was down for cbe schools yesterday. What happens if you do not have a backup plan? Very cool post.

  2. What a great description of your experiences with technology. It’s crazy to realize how much COVID played a part in technological advancement! It was interesting to read about your field experience classrooms and their connection use because it was very similar to my experience in terms of technology. I like your question about internet shortage and lack of accessibility to technology, because this is something that we are likely to experience in our teaching journeys. I am exited to read about your learnings this semester!
